Kodu Pac-man

"Pac-Man's programming"

The custom settings for Pac-man
Questions: 1) I think my Pac-Man game is pretty close to the original because of the way I programmed it. The ghosts move in a path and run after you when they see you, just like in the regular game. The differences are obviously that one is made in Kodu, and one is 8-bit. The things that are similar are the objectives in both games are the same. you collect dots, and try to run away from ghosts.

Question 2) I added the pathing to the ghosts to make sure that they would still find "Pac-Man" instead of just making them wander around. I did this to make the game more interesting because if I didn't add the paths, the ghosts wouldn't be as quick to find the player, and the paths added the ai feel of the original Pac-man
The Ghost's Programming (Path colours vary for each ghost)

Question 3) I had a few difficulties in programming the ghost's speed. Mr. Chen asked me to increase the speed of the ghosts, but when I did, the ghosts started bumping into each other, walls, and other things. I couldn't        fix the problem because of the fact that didn't        know how to fix the problem.

Question 4) The beta testers had good feedback on the game. The only person that game me suggestions was Mr. Chen who told me to speed up the ghosts. I couldn't implement the suggestion because I didn't know how.

Question 5) I could improve the game by adding more challenges, and powers for the player. Currently, the game doesn't have any power ups or pose much of a challenge. I would like to add those into my game in a later time.

  1. Good job on the game. I like that you added paths for the ghosts so that they have a specific route to take to try and get pacman. Like you said in one of the answers, one improvement you can make is to add some sort of a power up for pacman.
